SHOCK POSITION FOR ENERGY LOSS

This position can help you reestablish the energy flow in the body in case of severe lack of energy as well as in depressive states, without you having to put in a lot of effort to get there.

Lay on the side.

Place upper arm over the other arm and upper leg over the other leg.

Bend your arms and legs to form 90 degree angles.

Palms are straight, as in the prayer position, with the upper palm placed just a bit toward the elbows.

Same with the legs, the upper knee is just a bit displaced toward the feet.

Spine is straight and the neck and the head are in the same line, with the head supported by a pillow in order to keep it in the same height with the spine.

This position should be comfortable and recuperating.

If you feel discomfort or unrest you are not having a problem with the lack of energy but with the surplus of energy that you are holding back and supressing.

In that case, before changing the position, stay there for a while asking yourself what kind of activity or what kind of movement would bring you the greatest relief.

If possible, proceed in that direction. If not, move in the most comfortable way you can, and continue moving until you reach a satisfactory level of inner peace.

Doing this regularily will increase your capacity to tolerate intense emotions and energy loads and thus to feel stronger and more alive.

A sound mind in a sound body

If the body is weak, stunted, crouched, it indicates that one has difficulties in carrying the burden of his/her problems.

If the body is tight, strong and rigid, it indicates the lack of flexibility and spontaneity necessary for us to enjoy life fully.

A lasting change in the quality of life often requires from us to work on our bodies and to develop it by practising what we are least willing and interested to practise. 

If your body is weak, stunted, crouched, you need to work on the muscles and strength. You probably have too much flexibiility.

If your body is tight, strong and rigid, you shoud work on elasticity and spontaneity. You probably do not lack strength.

Options are endless. Ideally, you should chose to work on what you feel least like doing, or the thing you are worse at. That is exactly what you need the most. If you are exercising in pair or in a group,  look for a coach or partners until you find someone who will be patient with you.

The key thing is to learn to differentiate between resistance and pushing yourself.

Resistance is the voice that will try to make you give up. It will come up with excusess, or it could even push you toward an injury so that you could have an objective reason to walk away. However, that is the voice you should ignore. Not to take your resistance seriously is the greatest favour you can do for youself. 

Pushing yourself is the opposite type of trap. This happens when you ignore the voice that you should listen to. When you are forcing your body to continue even if it is sending you signals you should stop, trying to tell you that you have reached your true limits. Pushing yourself can seriously damage your health and wellbeing.

You will know that you are on the right track once you start enjoying the very thing you used to hate the most.
